Roobet Mines: how it works, multipliers and odds

Roobet Mines is the site's Minesweeper-style original: you choose how many bombs hide on the board, reveal tiles one by one, and cash out whenever you like before you hit one. Roobet's Mines is reported at 96% RTP. This guide covers the settings, the survival odds behind every multiplier, auto-bet and fairness.

What is Roobet Mines?

Roobet Mines is one of the longest-running Roobet house games. Roobet's help centre describes it as "reminiscent of Minesweeper": tiles hide either a gem or a bomb, every safe tile you reveal raises the multiplier, and a bomb ends the round with the bet lost. You can cash out at any time after the first safe tile.

The defining setting is the bomb count, which you choose before each round. Few bombs make each click safe and each step small. Many bombs make every click a gamble and every step large. Independent reviews also report a choice of board size on Roobet's version (25, 36, 49 or 64 tiles), with quick presets of 1, 3, 5 or 10 mines and a custom count.

Mines is reported at 96% return to player on Roobet, the same as Mission Uncrossable and a little below Roobet Towers at about 96.5%. That is a lower return than the 99% reported for Roobet Dice and Plinko, which matters if Mines is your main game.

How a round works

  1. Set your bet.
  2. Choose the number of mines, and the board size if your version offers it.
  3. Start the round and click tiles one at a time.
  4. Each gem raises the multiplier shown on the cash-out button.
  5. Cash out whenever you want to take bet × current multiplier, or keep going.
  6. Hit a bomb and the round ends; the board then shows where every bomb was.

The board that appears after a loss is sometimes read as "I was one tile away". It is better read as a reminder that the layout was fixed before your first click: the position of every bomb comes from the round's seeds, not from your choices.

Roobet house games accept very small bets, so Mines is easy to try at low cost. Reviews also report that bets below the minimum switch the game to a free demo mode.

Payouts and the maths

Every Mines multiplier is the inverse of a survival chance, with the house edge taken off. On a 25-tile board with m mines, the chance that your first k clicks are all safe is the number of ways to pick k tiles from the safe ones, divided by the number of ways to pick k tiles from the whole board. The fair multiplier is one over that chance; at 96% RTP, the game pays 0.96 times the fair multiplier.

The table shows the chance of surviving and the resulting multiplier at 96% RTP for common settings on the 25-tile board:

Tiles revealed1 mine3 mines5 mines10 mines
196.0% · 1.00×88.0% · 1.09×80.0% · 1.20×60.0% · 1.60×
388.0% · 1.09×67.0% · 1.43×49.6% · 1.94×19.8% · 4.85×
580.0% · 1.20×49.6% · 1.94×29.2% · 3.29×5.65% · 17.0×
1060.0% · 1.60×19.8% · 4.85×5.65% · 17.0×0.09% · about 1,045×

These are calculated, not copied from the game. Roobet's buttons may round differently or apply a small minimum, so the cash-out button is the authority.

Two points stand out. First, a single safe click with one mine pays exactly your bet back at 96% RTP: the 4% edge eats the whole step. Low-mine games need several clicks before a cash-out is worth more than the bet. Second, the multipliers for "3 mines, 5 tiles" and "5 mines, 3 tiles" are the same. Different settings reach the same price at different points; none is cheaper than another, because every path is charged the same 4%.

Auto-bet in Mines

Roobet's auto-bet help article singles out Mines as a game where you must choose your tiles before auto-bet will run. You click the squares you want, set the number of bets and stops, and every round reveals that same set. Roobet notes a detail that surprises people: in auto mode "all of your tiles are played out at the same time so the order you click them in does not matter".

That makes auto Mines a fixed-target game, similar to Limbo at a set multiplier: with 3 mines and 5 tiles chosen, each round is a 49.6% chance at about 1.94×. The shared auto panel gives you Number of Bets, Stop on Profit, Stop on Loss and On Win or On Loss changes, measured from your balance when auto-bet started.

Strategies people try, and why none beats the edge

Corner or edge patterns

Bomb positions are drawn uniformly from the seeds. Corners, edges and the centre are equally likely to hide a bomb.

Repeating the last winning tiles

Each round's layout is independent. The tiles that were safe last time are no safer now.

"One more tile"

The next click always has a lower survival chance than the last, because there are fewer safe tiles left. The price rises to match, so continuing is never a better deal, just a riskier one.

Max mines for big multipliers

With 24 mines on a 25-tile board, one safe click has a 4% chance and pays about 24×. That is the same 96% return as every other setting, with the highest variance on the board.

The Roobet Mines strategy guide goes further into choosing settings and cash-out points that fit your budget.

How to verify a Mines board

Roobet says players can verify each bet on its house games. For Mines, the bomb layout is derived from the server seed, your client seed and the bet's nonce. Before you play you can see the server seed's hash; after you rotate seeds, the seed is revealed and the layout of every past round can be recomputed and compared with your history. The Roobet provably fair guide explains how, and what this proves.

Bankroll tips for Mines

  • Pick the cash-out point before the first click. Write it as tiles or as a multiplier.
  • Keep high-mine rounds small. At 10 mines, three safe tiles happen about one round in five.
  • Watch the 4% edge. Over 1,000 rounds of $1, expect to lose about $40, with large swings either way.
  • Use limits. Roobet's loss limits can be set daily, weekly or monthly, and a 24-hour time-out is always available. See responsible gambling.

FAQ

How does Roobet Mines work?

Choose a bet and a number of mines, then reveal tiles. Each safe tile raises the multiplier and you can cash out any time after the first. Hitting a bomb ends the round and loses the bet.

What is the RTP of Roobet Mines?

About 96%, a 4% house edge, as reported by independent reviews. That is lower than the 99% reported for Roobet Dice and Plinko. Check the game info for the current figure.

How many mines should I choose on Roobet?

There is no best number for profit, because every setting carries the same edge. Fewer mines give frequent small wins; more mines give rare large ones. Choose by how much variance you are comfortable with.

What grid sizes does Roobet Mines have?

The standard board is 5 by 5, 25 tiles. Reviews report larger boards of 36, 49 and 64 tiles as options. The settings panel in the game shows what is available.

Does the order of tiles matter in Roobet Mines?

No. The layout is fixed by the seeds before you click. In auto-bet, Roobet reveals all chosen tiles at once, so order does not matter there either.

Can you predict Roobet Mines?

No. Predictor apps and bots cannot see the server seed, which stays hidden until you rotate seeds. Anything selling Mines predictions is a scam.

What is the maximum win on Roobet Mines?

A per-bet maximum applies. Roobet's game policy and the Mines game page have shown different figures, so check the game info before playing for a large multiplier.

Is Roobet Mines provably fair?

Roobet says bets on its house games can be verified with its fairness tools using the server seed hash, client seed and nonce. No independent lab certificate is published.
